We’re on the news!

Someone on the team spotted it first and dropped it in our internal chat with more exclamation marks than the sentence strictly needed: EyeSeeTea’s name, sitting quietly among 120 other companies, in a piece Expansión published about employee engagement in Spain. Small moment, genuine excitement, and honestly a good excuse to talk about what the piece is actually about.

The article, titled “Las empresas españolas certificadas resisten el deterioro del compromiso laboral en Europa” (“Certified Spanish companies resist the decline in workplace engagement across Europe”), covers ChooseMyCompany‘s 2026 EmployeesIndex study: almost 12,000 certified employee reviews across Europe, and a headline finding that is not exactly cheerful on its own. Workplace engagement across Europe has fallen to 60.6%, down 6.8 points in four years, with declines recorded in 11 of 19 sectors.

Spain’s 120 certified companies, EyeSeeTea included, are the counterpoint in that data: 77% satisfaction and 83% recommendation on average, well above the European baseline, with 77% of certified companies reaching the study’s top Platinum level.

The detail that actually matters to us

One finding in the report is worth pulling out on its own: companies with fewer than 50 employees scored an average of 448 out of 500, compared with 399 out of 500 for companies with more than 200 employees. The report ties that 49 point gap to management quality and how close leadership stays to the team, not to headcount for its own sake. We are a small, fully remote company, so this is the segment we actually compete in, and it is the one where the study found the strongest results.

None of this happened because a magazine decided to write about us. It follows from being certified Platinum by ChooseMyCompany based entirely on our own team’s anonymous answers, work we had already put in before anyone outside the company was going to see the results.

Why we are sharing this at all

We are not going to pretend a certification changes how we work on Monday morning. What it does is add one more independent data point to something we already knew from the inside: the practices we have been formalising, from that Platinum certification to the certifications covering how we run the company more broadly, are not just paperwork. As ChooseMyCompany founder Laurent Labbé put it in the piece, the companies behind these numbers are not perfect, they have simply “decidido escuchar a sus empleados, publicar los resultados sin maquillarlos y actuar” (decided to listen to their employees, publish the results without dressing them up, and act on them).

That is a fair description of what we are aiming for, so we will take the logo in the newspaper as a nice, if slightly random, confirmation.

Working on something similar? Let's talk.
