During the last DHIS2 conference we presented an app developed for WHO’s National Health Work Accounts, a Data Quality App. It is an open-source DHIS2-based tool that automates data quality validation, reducing workload, improving reliability, and enabling cross-country collaboration.

As we all know, high-quality, validated health data is crucial for policy decisions and resource planning in global health. Yet, inconsistencies and fragmented validation workflows usually hinder ability to ensure data quality. Our solution is an open-source DHIS2-based tool that automates data quality validation, reducing workload, improving reliability, and enabling cross-country collaboration.
The app is built as a DHIS2 app using React + Typescript and d2-logger’s EyeSeeTea generic library.

Impact - What it enables
The NHWA Data Quality App helps WHO and its member states:
• Validate health workforce data more efficiently and transparently
• Automate issue detection and resolution
• Enable evidence-based decision-making
• Standardize processes and reduce fragmentation
“The NHWA Data Quality App transformed our data review from a cumbersome task to a structured, collaborative process.”

We were so excited to share our work on the NHWA Data Quality App during DAC2025! Here it is a video we recorded at the conference to explain this work.
