System Administrator

EyeSeeTea, a startup based in Spain, operating in the NGO and science research domain, is actively seeking an experienced Systems Administrator. This role involves the maintenance of our systems and servers, as well as contributing to the development of our comprehensive IT strategy

Responsibilities:

As part of your role, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Monitor servers and instances:

   • Respond to software issues promptly.
   • Assist in building, testing, and maintaining new servers as needed.

2. System performance monitoring and troubleshooting:

   • Research event-log warnings and errors.
   • Ensure seamless interaction among system architecture components.
   • Tune performance for optimal results and maintain high infrastructure availability.

3. System security:

   • Maintain and enhance system security.
   • Address vulnerabilities promptly.

4. Technical support:

   • Assist other teams with troubleshooting.
   • Provide technical support as needed.

5. Routine audits:

   • Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups.

6. Automation:

   • Configure tools for automation, build, and deploy processes.

7. Operational processes:

   • Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate operational processes.

8. Development and testing environments:

   • Build and manage development and testing environments.

What are we looking for?

Basic Requirements:

We are seeking individuals who meet the following criteria:

• Experience: 4 years or more as a sysadmin.
• Linux System Administration: Demonstrable experience.
• Server Virtualization: Proficiency in server virtualization.
• Networking: Expertise in IP tables, network address routing, subnetting, and experience with ssh/curl/jq/ip/.
• Cloud Computing: Hands-on experience.
• Scripting and Languages: Proficient in shell scripting and/or dynamic languages (Bash), with knowledge of GIT.
• Automation Configuration Tools: Familiarity with tools such as Saltstack, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.
• Database and Web Servers: Knowledge of Postgres, Nginx.
• Monitoring Tools: Experience with tools like Grafana.
• Continuous Integration: Exposure to Jenkins, Github actions, etc.
• Language Skills: Fluent in English. Spanish will be an added advantage.
• Remote Work: Ability to work remotely, both independently and collaboratively with team members from diverse backgrounds.

Salary Range: 30k-53k
